The Polaris server is available again as of 2PM. We’ve tested the database integrity and core Polaris function. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Polaris Production server has a hardware fault that is being addressed. The server is currently unavailable, so please utilize Wordpad “offline” until we can fully assess the problem and provide an estimate for server availability.

The BCCLS office is currently experiencing what appears to be a telecom outage as of 2:45PM on Friday, May 17, 2013. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

As of 4:15PM, the BCCLS Office is without power. After further investigation, it appears that our building has lost a phase of service. The servers have been shut down and we are awaiting repair from PSE&G. Please check back here for more updates.
To the technology committee: the migration to gmail for technology committee members has been delayed due to lack of server availability. You’ll be receiving email information about the rescheduled date shortly.
The problem has been resolved and workflows is now available once again. If you notice anything strange, please contact me via email or call if the system goes down again (which I find highly unlikely).
Workflows is currently down — all other servers are up and running (webmail, web, etc.) and I’m on my way in to see whats wrong. More info coming soon.
Please temporarily use wordpad to record your transactions and hopefully the server will be available shortly.
We have repaired the user database issues and WorkFlows is back up, so you can resume basic circulation activities. However, Loan processing will need to wait until tomorrow morning. We again apologize for the inconvenience.
WorkFlows is currently down as we attempt to repair some problems with the users in the system. You will have seen the symptoms as issues with the ability to place loans (on the patron end) as well as the patron ability to log into “Your Library Card”. Some libraries will have problems logging into the tools BCCLS has developed outside of WorkFlows (POW, Loan, etc).
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes and realize you are all busy. We are working as quickly as possible and hope to have the system back up soon.
Power was restored to the BCCLS office late last evening, and the batteries are almost fully charged. We are working on getting all services back online. All systems should be available no later than 9AM, September 1st.
A quick update (6:15PM August 31) – the power has not yet been restored, and we have passed the 1 hour mark of our remaining battery capacity. Unless I post otherwise, please be prepared for switching to Notepad/wordpad for checkouts and hold your check-ins until the system is back up.
I estimate having to start shutting down systems around 6:45PM with Unicorn being the last system to go down.
It is unlikely that we will come back up tonight as the batteries will need a few hours to recharge, which hopefully the evening will provide us.
