BCCLS Without Power

At approximately 5:30PM today (August 31), the BCCLS office once again lost power. All of our critical systems are running on battery backup supply and will need to be shut down within the next hour if power is not restored due to the battery capacity being depleted from the outage just an hour ago.

BCCLS Power Restored

As of 4:30PM (August 31), power to the BCCLS office has been restored. All systems are still functional, and we were able to run through this outage without problem.

BCCLS Without Power

At approximately 3:30PM today (August 31), the BCCLS office once again lost power. All of our critical systems are running on battery backup supply and will need to be shut down within the next 2 hours if power is not restored.

BCCLS Power Restored

As of 1:40PM (August 30), power to the BCCLS office has been restored. All systems are still functional, and we were able to run through this outage without problem.

BCCLS Without Power (once again)

At approximately 1:00PM today (August 30th), the BCCLS office lost power. All of our critical systems are running on battery backup supply and will need to be shut down within the next 2 hours if power is not restored.

BCCLS Systems Update

Webmail and websites are now available. The library catalog, loan, and Workflows/Unicorn (for library staff) will be available at 10AM. Envisionware barcode validation relies on our Unicorn server, so this will be available at 10AM as well. All email was properly queued by our emergency backup system and is in the process of being delivered to each mailbox now that webmail is back online.

BCCLS Power Restored

BCCLS power has been restored as of 4:30AM (Monday, August 29). We are working to get all services restored and will post an update shortly.

BCCLS Systems Down

The BCCLS servers have been shut down as of 4:45pm (Sunday, August 28th). We are waiting for power to return to our main office and will provide more details when we have them.

BCCLS Without Power

Hello all,

The BCCLS office has lost power approximately 45 minutes ago (3:15PM on Sunday August 28th) and the computer system has been running on battery backup supply since then. If the outage continues, the servers will have to be shut down within the next hour, and at this time we do not know when the power may return.

Unicorn/Workflows/Loan/Web2 Up!

Unicorn has returned to working order. All seems “GO” for a hopefully uneventful Sunday.

(now the technical)
The server threw a disk drive from the RAID array (a major fault), and a part had to be ordered that will be here by 9AM Monday. I’ve run database integrity checks and all (except a minor item that I’ve fixed) checked out ok. The system is back up and running.
